Hello everybody it is Joey again, back for the weekly Mystic River Green Team update. Last week went very well I would have to say our best week so far. Even though Tuesday was a scorcher of a day the team and I made it through the heat and we managed to pick over 95 baskets of the invasive water chestnut. On Wednesday the heat had receded and it was a bit more comfortable for picking the invasive water chestnuts. With the nice weather on Wednesday the team and I were able to collect a total of 115 baskets of the invasive water chestnuts. With our spirits high for another beautiful day on Thursday we hit the water with high hopes for the day. We had another very productive day of removing the invasive species a total of 125 baskets of water chestnut were gathered on Thursday. Altogether last week the mystic river green team collected a total of over 330 baskets of the invasive species known as the water chestnut. Thus far this year the Mystic River Green Team has gathered a total of 1595 baskets of the invasive water chestnuts – AWESOME!!!!
