Corn Shucking: Mass Harvest for Students Week

As part of Massachusetts Harvest for Students week, Somerville Public Schools Food Service Department, Groundwork Somerville, UMass Extension, and community volunteers will help elementary students shuck local corm at breakfast.

Volunteers are needed at all Somerville Public Elementary schools to help facilitate students in shucking corn before school on Thursday September 22.  Volunteers need to arrive to their assigned site at 7am and can expect to leave by 8:30am.   The farm-fresh cobs will be served at lunch.  Email Charlotte at cstephenson@k12.somerville.ma.us to sign up!
