Groundwork Somerville is happy to participate in this great annual community event! If we are approved for a spot, look for our table at the festival!

************************************

It’s the fifth annual Fluff festival in Somerville and our madcap celebration continues to grow! “What the Fluff? A Tribute to Union Square Invention” honors Fluff creator, Archibald Query who invented the gooey sticky stuff right here in Union Square in 1917. Join our madcap tribute for all ages that includes musical, and theatrical performances, games stage and DIY midway, cooking contest and lots of tasty Fluff treats.

The …2010 theme is the whoopie pie, that most enticing of Fluff creations, the Whoopie Pie. Often chocolate but could be other flavors from vanilla to carrot to pumpkin, the Whoopie Pie is not properly a sandwich, not quite a cupcake, oddly not even a pie — like Marshmallow Fluff itself, it’s in a class by itself.

Guests can also join in the festivities by creating a mallowey concoction for the cooking contest or participating in a range of Fluff shennanigans and field games — all with fab prizes. Get your tongues ready for the Fluff lick-off, your coordination on track for the Fluffernutter relay, and your balance for Fluff bowling. Play culinary roulette and dare to eat the Fluffed-up results. Sample the taste of Fluff from our various vendors presenting Fluff sweet and savory. There’s Fluff-inspired cocktails at local watering holes throughout Union Square. A range of musical and theatrical performers will entertain the fluff-infused crowd.

For more info visit http://unionsquaremain.org/committees/Special%20Events/flufffest10.html
or follow us on Twitter at @FluffFestival for the latest updates

And for a chance to win our poetry contest, write something clever and post it to our wall on our Poetry Contest Facebook Page or email it to fluff.festival@gmail.com.

(RAINDATE: September 26th)

Want to volunteer and be in the inside fluff scoop?!? Email us at fluff.festival@gmail.com
